Job Title: Graduate Geoscientist  Grade: 1P Department: Geoscience Responsible to: Team Lead    Role Purpose  As a member of the geoscience team, made up of Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology,  Geophysics, Subsea Cable Engineering and Geomatics, you will be required to work under guidance of more experienced staff in project based analysis and reporting, proposal writing, group marketing and technical development in accordance with the quality management system.   Duties and Responsibilities:  • Participate in your relevant discipline within geoscience projects to meet quality and budget expectations • Under supervision, perform analysis in the relevant discipline across the geoscience team • Participate in writing comprehensive and detailed reports for projects  • Provide support and assistance in client meetings and attendances on site and offshore • Participate in the improvement and up-keep of essential software and analysis tools • Participate in preparing detailed proposals for new work including costing • Provide support in the marketing of Global Maritime • Assist with the delivery of services across Global Maritime’s business streams as workload demands.  Specific Skills, Knowledge and Experience required • MEng / MSc in relevant degree subject, options including Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Geography or related degree. • Graduate/Associate Member of a professional institution • Working ability in a number of design analysis tools • Excellent Microsoft Office skills   Role Competencies • Works as an effective member of a team  • Communicates information in a clear and effective manner • Uses effective problem solving approaches to solve routine problems • Manages own workload to meet deadlines and keep within budget  • Aware for requirements for quality and cost • Self-motivated and focused on achieving results • Proactively pursues opportunities for professional development    Health and Safety  To uphold the Company’s Health & Safety requirements with particular regard to agreed codes of practice and safe methods of working.   Quality To follow the group Business Management System   Equalities  To uphold and carry out the duties of the post with due regard to the Company’s ‘Equal Opportunities and Dignity at Work Policy’.    Company Values To uphold the company values as set out in the Mission Statement.    Your duties will be as set out in the above job description but please note that the Company reserves the right to update your job description from time to time, to reflect changes in, or to, your role.  You will be consulted about any proposed changes.  The list of duties in this job description should not be regarded as exclusive or exhaustive.  There will be other duties and requirements associated with your job and, in addition, as a term of your employment you may be required to undertake various other duties as may reasonably be required by the business of you.
