Join our Investment Planning team and play a key role in shaping and managing the Society's strategic investment portfolio. Working at the heart of the investment lifecycle, you'll help coordinate annual planning activities, support portfolio prioritisation, and ensure investment decisions are informed by high-quality data, insight and governance. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to senior stakeholders across Technology, Operations, Finance, Risk and Change Delivery, whilst developing a broad understanding of how strategic investments are planned, governed and delivered. You'll combine analytical thinking, stakeholder engagement and sound judgement to help ensure our investment portfolio remains affordable, achievable and aligned to our strategic priorities. You'll also help manage in-year investment demand and change control activity, providing the insight and governance needed to support effective decision-making at Executive and Board level. We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best. This is a 9 month secondment opportunity.   At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.   For this role, you'll be based at your nearest regional office or hub. We value time spent together to connect with colleagues for collaboration so there will be a regular requirement to attend our Swindon site approximately once per quarter. If you are based at an office location, you'll be expected to meet our hybrid working requirement of at least two days a week, or 40% of your working time if part-time, in the office. If you’re based at our Glasgow office, this will apply from 1 April 2027 and ahead of that there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works.   Nationwide is committed to the redeployment of our employees impacted by change, as such applications for redeployment candidates will be prioritised in this recruitment process.   If you’re a colleague on long-term absence (for example, on parental leave) or a temporary worker, please use your personal email address to submit an application. RESPONSIBILITIES Working closely with stakeholders across Change, Finance, Technology and the wider business, you will coordinate key activities throughout the investment planning and governance lifecycle, helping to shape an investment portfolio that delivers against strategic objectives. You will support senior governance forums by facilitating discussions and providing the insight required to inform investment decisions, priorities and trade-offs. In addition, you'll manage in-year investment demand and change control activity, ensuring new investment requests are appropriately assessed, prioritised and aligned with agreed funding, capacity and strategic objectives. A key aspect of the role will be maintaining the integrity of the central change portfolio data, ensuring portfolio structures, investment information and governance records remain accurate, up to date and aligned with approved decisions.
