The Finance Team drives performance while upholding the company's commitment to regulatory compliance and financial integrity through strategic collaboration with internal business partners and external constituents, including the investment community and regulators. Our well-established Summer Internship Programme will provide high-performing students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in projects that have strategic, operational or financial significance to the company. Interns will work on a challenging project, with an opportunity to learn about the culture and values of American Express, as well as network across regions and functions. RESPONSIBILITIES • Become an integral member of a Finance team working with Issuer (ICS), Merchant (GMS), Network (GNS), Corporate Planning (FP&A), Controllership, or Pricing. • Take ownership of a business-critical project focused on solving real-world challenges and supporting strategic decision-making. • Analyze financial and operational data in the P&L, including metrics such as Billings, Acquisitions, Revenue, and Expenses, to uncover meaningful insights. • Utilize generative AI technologies to improve productivity, develop insights, and support business objectives. • Partner with stakeholders across Finance and the broader business to understand key drivers of performance and develop data-driven recommendations. • Build and present a compelling story from your analysis, communicating complex information in a clear and impactful way. • Showcase your work and recommendations to senior Finance leaders through a final presentation at the end of the program.
