At Office Depot, the Retail Team Lead is a part-time role providing “total
solutions” to our customers encompassing Products, Technology, Services,
Furniture and Print offerings. The Retail Team Lead will quickly build and
maintain customer relationships and become a trusted advisor by utilizing
provided training to support sales offerings. The Team Lead will support a
customer-centric environment, engagement with the local community, all while
contributing to a positive culture aligned with the Office Depot 5C values
of Caring, Committed, Creative, Collaborative, & Courageous. The Retail Team
Lead will demonstrate a passion for the brand, technology products, furniture,
print, and other services/products offered to our customers. Retail Team Lead
(PT) will utilize Office Depot's proven sales principles to proactively engage
customers, to drive the sales of our total offerings, and properly assess
customer needs to ensure satisfaction in every interaction.
Through enthusiasm and expertise, Retail Team Lead will help us create and
nurture a vibrant sales culture, enhancing our store's visual and merchandising
standards, freight, and logistics activities, and prioritizing unparalleled
client satisfaction. The Retail Team Lead will also be a part-time ‘Key Carrier’
for their location and may perform Leader on Duty functions while in the role.
In addition, the Retail Team Lead (PT) must be able to perform External Key
Carrier responsibilities, which include but are not limited to, opening &
closing responsibilities and be scheduled for those respective shifts.

Primary Responsibilities:
Print Sales and Services:
• Responsibility in the Print function to support efficient operation while
driving overall store sales.
• Operates and assists associates on all equipment within the Print Services
area to maintain efficient production and ensure client orders are completed
correctly and on-time.
• Effectively utilizes communication tools to request assistance within the
Print Services area, and to coordinate the appropriate service for all
customers throughout the store.
Operational Efficiency:
• Process merchandise accurately and efficiently, adhering to established
procedures, deadlines, and visual merchandising standards.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement plans to reduce waste
and inefficiencies. In partnership with all associates, ensure regular loss
prevention compliance.
• Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and practices; and
supports the company’s loss prevention efforts. Performs other duties as
assigned.
• Contribute to increasing sales and profitability through conversion, Average
Order Value (AOV), and customer satisfaction improvement initiatives.
Client Engagement:
• Drives positive client satisfaction levels including coaching and training to
associates to enhance the customer experience.
• Supports community outreach initiatives to drive client/customer retention.
• Works to continually develop personal selling skills and product knowledge
through sales and service tools provided to deliver the total solution.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
External Key Carrier and Leader on Duty:
• Ensuring the safety and security of the building and associates during the
absence of the management team.
• In partnership with all associates, ensure regular loss prevention
compliance.
• Performing opening or closing responsibilities.
• This includes driving awareness of key performance indicators, providing
guidance to improve results, activation/deactivation of the store’s alarm
system, and processes for opening or closing the store.
• May assist in review of cash handling, cashier, and merchandise error logs,
register voids, tax exemption and all related cash office audits.
• Other duties as deemed necessary
Education & Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
* 1–3 years related experience; sales and/or customer service preferred
• Basic computer skills; able to use job-related technology and POS systems
• Attention to detail and, ideally, experience in Print Services
