PERIPATETIC MUSIC TEACHER
Casual – 1 day per week, with potential for additional hours
Priory School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Peripatetic Music
Teacher to join our thriving Music
Department. We are particularly interested in applicants with experience
teaching strings and woodwind instruments. Experience in teaching singing and
piano would also be desirable, although this is not essential.
The successful candidate will:
● Have experience teaching music to students aged 11–16.
● Be confident teaching both individual pupils and small groups.
● Inspire and nurture young musicians, encouraging them to develop their skills
and confidence.
● Support students in preparing for performances at school events, concerts and
recitals.
● Have a genuine enthusiasm for music education and a commitment to helping
young people achieve their
potential.
Priory School has a vibrant and successful Music Department, based in Southsea,
Portsmouth, with a strong tradition of live performance and musical celebration.
We currently have a number of students waiting to begin lessons, alongside
opportunities to lead after-school music clubs.
Priory School is a mixed 11-16 School with around 1240 students on roll situated
in the heart of Southsea. Our pupils come from a very wide range of backgrounds
and our community is truly comprehensive, harmonious and dynamic.
