About the Role:
The Work Health and Safety (WHS) Unit provides strategic leadership, expert advice, and effective coordination of WHS management strategies, frameworks and activities across Canberra Health Services (CHS). The team delivers advisory and support services and oversees the implementation of systems and processes that help create a safe, accountable and healthy healthcare environment.
As a key member of the team, you will drive WHS initiatives that support a safe and healthy workplace across CHS. You will provide expert advice on WHS compliance, risk management and workplace safety, lead strategic programs and projects, investigate incidents, and develop practical solutions to complex WHS issues. Working closely with a diverse range of stakeholders, you will build strong relationships, influence positive safety outcomes, and contribute to the development of policies, procedures and resources that strengthen our safety culture.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor junior staff and engage effectively with stakeholders.
You will have highly developed negotiation and influencing skills, along with a genuine passion for Work Health and Safety and continuous improvement.
