What will you be doing?
As a Graduate Bid Writer, your responsibilities will include:
• Support the preparation and coordination of high-quality tender submissions,
ensuring responses meet client requirements and deadlines.
• Assist with reviewing tender documentation to understand client objectives,
evaluation criteria and submission requirements.
• Draft, edit and proofread bid responses, ensuring content is clear, concise,
persuasive and tailored to the client.
• Work with the Senior Proposals manager, bid managers, subject matter experts,
commercial teams and operational colleagues to gather information and develop
compelling responses.
• Support the development of win themes, key messages and value propositions
that demonstrate organisational strengths and differentiators.
• Coordinate contributions from internal subject matter experts and
supply-chain partners, monitoring progress against bid programmes,
deliverables matrices and deadlines.
• Research clients, projects, competitors and market developments to help
inform bid strategy and positioning.
• Assist in maintaining case studies, project evidence libraries and reusable
bid content.
• Support the production of presentations, graphics and other supporting
materials to improve the quality and impact of submissions.
• Carry out quality checks, proofreading and compliance reviews before final
submission.
• Attend bid kick-off meetings, answer plan workshops, win theme workshops and
lessons-learned meetings, recording and progressing actions where required.
• Develop an understanding of procurement processes, construction terminology
and contractual requirements relevant to bids.
• Support continuous improvement by capturing feedback, best practice and
lessons learned from successful and unsuccessful submissions.
• Build effective relationships across pre-construction, commercial,
operational and specialist subject matter expert teams.
• Take ownership of allocated bid sections and progressively manage
increasingly complex responses and smaller tender opportunities as experience
develops.
This role is available for a September 2027 start, with the possibility of an
earlier start date to suit yourself and the business.
As part of the graduate programme you will be expected to work in and around the
location advertised, with the possibility for expanding travel to other projects
and locations in the future. This may include staying away from home.

What are we looking for?
We invite applications from graduates who are passionate about the industry and
have achieved, or are on track to achieve a Bachelors or Masters degree in
English / History / Journalism / Publishing (or similar) prior to September

A full UK driving licence (or currently learning, you will be expected to have
obtained a Full UK Driving Licence by 6th September 2027) and the eligibility to
live and work in the UK without restriction is essential for this role.
