Job Description
We’re looking for a newly qualified Management Accountant to support accurate financial reporting, effective financial controls and informed decision-making across Legal & General Affordable Homes.
You’ll play an important role in preparing management information, supporting month-end activities and partnering with colleagues across the business. This is an opportunity to build your experience in a collaborative environment where attention to detail, sound judgement and continuous improvement are valued.
What you’ll be doing:
Supporting month-end close activities and preparing journals, accruals, prepayments and other accounting adjustments
Preparing monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting analysis
Analysing financial performance and highlighting key variances, risks and opportunities
Supporting budgeting, forecasting and wider business-planning activities
Maintaining effective financial controls and following agreed governance and approval processes
Assisting with statutory accounts, tax, VAT, regulatory and lender reporting requirements
Partnering with operational and development teams to provide clear financial guidance and respond to queries
Supporting internal and external audits while helping to document and improve financial processes and controls
Who we’re looking for:
A newly qualified accountant with an ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification
A strong understanding of financial and management accounting principles
Experience preparing management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
Advanced Excel skills and the confidence to work with detailed financial information
Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively
A collaborative approach with clear communication and effective stakeholder-management skills
Experience in housing, real estate, property development or asset management, or knowledge of an ERP system such as COINS, would be beneficial
