Assistant Accountant

Finance works closely with operational and support teams across the UK, providing financial expertise, governance, reporting, and commercial insight to help the business make informed decisions and achieve its strategic objectives.
The team is responsible for maintaining robust financial controls, managing budgets and forecasts, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and delivering accurate financial information across the business. Through proactive support and analysis, Finance helps drive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement at every level of the organisation.
Purpose of the role:
This role supports the finance function by assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial reports, and audit-related documentation. It involves maintaining accurate financial records, managing accruals and prepayments across departments, and supporting cost tracking activities.
The position also contributes to account reconciliations and month‑end/year‑end close processes while working collaboratively with internal teams to gather reliable financial data. Additionally, the role helps ensure compliance with financial policies and external reporting requirements.
Hours: Monday to Friday – 37.5 Hours per week

Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
Accruals, prepayments across all business departments
Assist in cost tracking
Maintain financial records and ensure data accuracy
Reconcile accounts and assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial data
Support compliance with financial policies and procedures
Assist with audit preparation and external reporting requirements
What we need from you:
Studying towards, or attained, AAT accreditation.
Previous experience in a finance or accounting role preferred.
Strong Excel skills.
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.
